I love coffee. But in the rush of getting out the door in the morning, plus my commute, I mainly drink it at work. Stopping by my favorite place tends to add up, and office coffee can sometimes be just office coffee (not bad, just institutional). I do love a hot cup of coffee, but sometimes I'm craving an iced drink. So I was super excited when offered the chance to try Jot.
Jot is a coffee concentrate. Per their website:
Ultra Coffee is brewed to exacting standards using a progressive enrichment process. It's a closed system where nothing is added, and nothing is taken away in order to achieve this unparalleled level of concentration.
And it is concentrated! A 6.8 oz bottle (smaller than a school milk carton) contains enough coffee for 14 cups! At $26 per bottle, that means I can get a drink for less than $2, rather than the $6 I would normally spend on an iced latte.

About this box
At MSA we open lots of boxes. I literally have seen it all, and this packaging was VERY secure. I don't see any way that these could shatter in transit. The first bottle was easy to remove, but it was a little tough to get the back two out. A small price to pay for a safe delivery.
How's the coffee?
Even though I love coffee (as mentioned above), I've tried some concentrates that have been harsh or bitter. So I was looking forward to trying out these concentrates in various ways to see how they compared to my regularly-brewed coffee drinks.
To make a drink, simply add a single tablespoon of concentrate to 8 oz of liquid. The ingredients are also very simple. I was pleased to see that the ingredient list was just "Water, Coffee."
Round 1 - Original with water
I first tried Original in cold water.
The verdict: Super smooth! I wouldn't have known it was a concentrate. It tastes exactly like well-brewed coffee, no bitterness or bite.
Round 2 - Dark with milk
Next taste test was an iced latte. I used the Dark with milk.
The verdict: The Dark definitely tasted stronger with a zip. The milk really helped to smooth it out, but it was my least favorite of the three.
Round 3 - Vanilla with oatmilk
The final taste test was an iced Vanilla latte.
The verdict: Delicious. I don't normally like flavored coffee, but this was something else. I wouldn't describe the flavor as vanilla, but a combination of all good things. It has notes of cinnamon and hazelnut, which made it delightful with the oat milk. It had a little sweetness to it, even without any added sugar.
To Wrap Up:
Of course when I bought these to the office to taste, I was forced to share them with my colleagues. Most people loved the vanilla, with the original being a close second. I will be keeping these stocked in my fridge for an easy and tasty drink.
