Nomadik Quarterly Spring 2024 “Post-Adventure Refresh” Review

Nomadik quarterly is a lifestyle subscription box for outdoor lovers. Every three months, they send 5-8 items for outdoor adventures including gear, snacks, and multi-use items for $149.99 (shipping is free). They promise a $200+ average retail value and access to fresh, best-in-class gear (never overstock or close-outs) based on seasons and/or interests. You can skip a month or even cancel or reactivate your account easily.

Nomadik also has a monthly subscription. Every month, they send 3-5 items for $34.99 + shipping. It promises a $60 average retail value.

Nomadik says that people who subscribe to both the monthly and quarterly boxes shouldn't receive the same or repeat items.

This box was sent to us at no cost to review. (Check out our review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Inside The Nomadik Quarterly Box "Post-Adventure Refresh"

BeachBox Portable Shower Tank (5L) - Retail Price $97

An item I never knew I needed until I saw it. This 5L shower tank from BeachBox is a game changer for me. There are many similar items, but based on sight alone, this one is the nicest. It's not all that different from a beer keg or pump sprayer for your yard. Just fill it to the max line and start pumping. It will build up pressure and allow you to use the spray handle. Just like your hose at home, the handle has different settings: mist, jet, etc. Honestly, the BeachBox handle is better than the one I have one my own hose. There is also a pressure release valve. I can tell you without hesitation that I am bringing this on our beach vacation this year to rinse off my kids before they get in our car.

Note: This item is currently on backorder. The website says more will be available in May 2024.

Clean Ocean Designs Outdoor Utility Mat - Retail Price $68

If you're rinsing off with your new shower tank, why not make sure you have a nice shower mat to match? This utility mat from Clean Ocean Designs is pretty neat. Constructed from eco-friendly biomaterial, the mat measures 29-1/2 by 19 inches and is 1 inch think. It saves your feet from asphalt, dirt, sand, and extreme temperatures. UV & water resistant material handles salt water, sun, and tough conditions. This is great for the beach, woods, or the RV park. No more cleaning your feet off just to put them back into the sand or dirt. This is especially nice for wardrobe changes after swimming or surfing. Did I mention I'm going to rinse off my kids at the beach?

DryFoxCo Microfiber Suede Towel - Retail Price $48

I did just get a towel from DryFox in January monthly box, but this is a large version. It measures 30 by 60 inches and includes a neat little corner pouch that can hold your phone or wallet at the beach. The pouch also has a tag to write your info on if you should lose it. Plus the towel folds up neatly into the corner. On the opposite side are two snap loops for hanging purposes. The towel is big enough to fully wrap around you, but packs up into the size of t-shirt. It's only 9 oz., quick-drying, and sand falls right off of it. I've gotten a lot of towels recently, but this my favorite one yet, due to size, utility, and easy of cleaning.

Got Bag Shower Bag - Retail Price $29

This bag holds 3 liters and measures 5.9” x 9.8” x 3.9”. The website says it's waterproof and is made from "Ocean Impact Plastic." That means crafted from recycled plastic that once had a negative impact on the ocean. It's very easy to clean or wipe off. I really enjoy this bag. It's robust, sleek, and environmentally friendly. I almost like it more as a beach bag than a shower bag. For the latter, I wish it had a second compartment or a hook to hang in the shower. Basically, it's awesome, but I wish it was more than just a bag.

HiBar Moisturize Shampoo Bar- Retail Price $13.95

One thing I love about subscription boxes is learning about new things. Until today I had never heard of a shampoo bar, but this one from HiBar is a neat idea. The website says each shampoo bar lasts as long as two big bottles of liquid shampoo. It's made with Vitamin B5 help fortify and restore natural resilience, rice protein to leave your hair detangled, smooth, and soft, and it's enriched with cocoa butter and a natural silicone alternative from olive oil. The unique shape is designed to fit comfortably in your hand for easy use. A shampoo bar is a new concept to me, but I can attest that it's pretty great.

The Verdict

A very smart, useful installment from Nomadik's quarterly box. Even with only five items, I felt very satisfied. It was a very strong and cohesive box. The shower tank and mat go hand in hand for me as the favorite item(s). They're just so smart and useful. Like I keep saying, it'll be great for rinsing off at the beach, but it'd also be useful in so many places. I'm really excited to use it. The bag is great, but I wish it was a little more dynamic. The shampoo bar is interesting, but in terms of the theme of the box, I'm not sure what you'd do with the bar when you're not using it during your travels. I loved the towel. I'd only complain a little that monthly Nomadik subscribers would have just gotten a towel three months ago. Still, this one is a vast improvement. Overall, though, I really enjoyed this one. Four things I would have never thought to buy myself, but I'm pumped for each one of them. I've always liked Nomadik, but I have especially enjoyed their quarterly boxes.

To Wrap Up

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. More from Nomadik:

Order by the 15th, your first shipment will be processed on the 16th and ship in 2-3 days. Otherwise, it’ll get processed and ship by the 15th of next month.

Value Breakdown: This box clocks in at around $256. That is well above the promised $200+ value and $106 more than the cost of the subscription ($149.99, shipping is free). I loved the thoughtful theme. It's like a one-stop-shop. With the money I saved, I could put it toward detailing my car to get all the sand out of it.

Normally I am pretty underwhelmed by the Nomadik boxes, but this one looks really nice.

To be fair, this is the more expensive quarterly box. However, this was undoubtedly the best Nomadik box I’ve received. Thanks for commenting.

“The shampoo bar is interesting, but in terms of the theme of the box, I’m not sure what you’d do with the bar when you’re not using it during your travels.” A lot of people, myself included, use shampoo bars and conditioner bars even when not traveling. I know it’s a new item for some, but they’ve been around and popular for a while. The point is really that they are plastic free, and also that they are water free so shipping weight is reduced to make them eco friendly. But yes, they are extra helpful for traveling and I love packing them instead of tiny, leaky, plastic bottles that don’t even last the duration of one trip. Give it a home in your shower when not traveling and you might like it enough to switch permanently.

You make a lot of really great points. Apologies for my short sightedness. I do have the bar ready to go in our home bathroom. I’m excited to check it out. Thank you for commenting.
